Some customers ask whether chlorine dioxide would also oxidize the corona virus. There is in fact a study, already from the year 2005, which should prove this. I actually found it HERE<\/a> after a search. <\/p>\n\n In this study the persistence (resistance of compounds to degradation) of severe acute respiratory syndrome associated coronavirus (SARS-CoV) was observed in feces, urine and water. Furthermore, the inactivation of SARS-CoV in wastewater with chlorine dioxide was also investigated. In vitro experiments (i.e. outside an organism) showed that the virus could only remain stable for two days in hospital wastewater, domestic wastewater and dechlorinated tap water (i.e. tap water that is free of chlorine).<\/p>\n\n According to this study, a chlorine dioxide dose of 2.19 milligrams<\/strong> per liter should already be effective in rendering the virus inactive. This is equivalent to a quantity of only 0.00219 grams<\/strong>\/litre. A chlorine dioxide solution such as CDH3000 contains up to 3 grams<\/strong> per liter, which is many times more.<\/p>\n\n It can therefore be assumed that chlorine dioxide can be used to inactivate the corona virus in water and drinking water.
