DHL and UPS are always inventing new surcharges, which are then increased further and further. <\/p>\n\n<p>For example, there is a &#8220;peak surcharge&#8221; that is charged by the shipping companies in the event of a particularly high volume of parcels.<\/p>\n\n<p>There is also a doorstep surcharge in northern countries such as Sweden and Finland.<\/p>\n\n<p>Some surcharges are also simply recalculated afterwards if the parcel was a little larger or the weight was not quite right.<\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p>UPS writes that they will introduce the following surcharges from September 2024:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Until January 31, 2025, a demand surcharge will be applied to parcels that require additional handling, as well as large parcels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Sometimes it is not really tangible what is suddenly billed.<\/p>\n\n<p>DHL then also argues with increased personnel costs, although there are only to be cushioned wage adjustments, which will also be drawn over several years. So rather the opposite. <\/p>\n\n<p>And then, of course, the air surcharges for invented climate problems with CO2.<\/p>\n\n<p>So far I have tried to compensate for all this. But what good is it if you let the shipping costs, where the increases actually happen, continue to run as &#8220;free shipping&#8221; and simply distribute the costs to the products or other things.
