Are you looking for a pipette that is chemically resistant?
This is particularly requested with regard to the substance DMSO.
Here is an article on pipette advice.
What quality do you need here?
Basically, the question is whether the medium, for example the DMSO, comes into contact with the bellows of the pipette for a long time or at all. Because if a bottle stands upright and the pipette is turned upside down when it is not filled, nothing should come into contact with it in itself.
Of course, there is also the question of the concentration of DMSO. This is because diluted variants have a much lower demand than the DMSO100 variant, for example.
I have special pipettes with a bellows made of NBR in the shop. This is optimal and chemically resistant as a pipette.
NBR stands for nitrile butadiene rubber, which is a synthetic material made up of butadiene and acrylonitrile. It is known for its resistance to mineral oil, fuels and other chemicals. NBR is used in industry for various applications.
You can find this in the shop called “Pipette for Miron glass” (enter in the search window)
Here you can find this special pipette in 114 mm.
It is important that the bottle you use fits them in terms of height. Because not all DIN18 bottles in 100 ml are so deep that the pipette does not hit the bottom.
An amber glass bottle that fits this 114 mm pipette is this SLIM Vario bottle.
However, I also have the pipette 95 mm for DIN18 bottles, which fits in all 100 ml bottles.
The special feature of the pipettes for Miron glass bottles is that they are black in the area where the bottle is filled, so that there is no reflection of light in the Miron glass and the frequencies of the substance are thus better protected.
Of course, you can also use them for amber glass bottles.
Best regards
Torben
