What do you measure with the TDS?

If you put two electricity electrodes in water, the water interrupts the flow of electricity. If you add salt to the water, it suddenly conducts the electricity. Water which has a very high value is not pure and you can taste it. Only free, pure water can carry and discharge other substances. If water is already filled with many other molecules, it cannot take anything with it. You wouldn’t want to rinse your dishes clean with dirty water. However, the TDS only measures the number of dissolved solids in the water that are conductive. It is therefore not a chemical analysis of water according to its exact ingredients. The measuring range is between 0-9990 ppm/mg/L. The temperature measuring range is between 0-50ºC. It is equipped with a temperature display. Switching on or off takes place automatically after 10 minutes. This saves battery power. The so-called Data-Hold-Function enables you to later reading of the value. This is important, for example, if you are measuring in areas where you cannot read the value during the measurement.
